Sanjit Manku and Patrick Jouin

A single vision: Dream, invent, create

A choreography of emotions

Jouin Manku is the collaboration of French designer Patrick Jouin and Canadian architect Sanjit Manku. Since 2006, the Studio Jouin Manku has been exploring the relationship between people, space, and emotion.

We blur the boundaries between architecture, interiors, and design. Why? Because a true experience knows no limits. Only authenticity and creativity. We are guided by the quest for the extraordinary and the desire to make the most ambitious dreams come true. Our studio creates private and commercial spaces that illustrate our two universes: purity and wonder.

This ability to combine such different voices has been our signature for almost 20 years. By creating connections from the past to the future, innovating with grace, establishing personal connections with our clients, and thinking outside the usual boundaries. We like to produce a creative shock, a sensory ‘coup de foudre’: the feeling, the gift, of seeing something you have never seen before, to create the souvenirs of the future.

The studio is based in Paris and employs an international team of approximately 50 people. We work across the globe, on projects as diverse as the Montparnasse train station in Paris to the new Van Cleef & Arpels Maison in Seoul and the modernization of the iconic Marrakech hotel: La Mamounia.

A Quest for the extraordinary

The studio approaches every project by doing away with the boundaries between architecture, interior space and objects, in a dialectic that is sensitive and engaged. Every project becomes an adventure, fed by the initial ambition, dreams, research, encounters and discussions that mark the road to realization.

On a quest for the right reaction, via poetry and avant-garde technology, drawing on cultural history and the range of skills, scales and spaces to bring alive a place with a particular chemistry.

Daring to design a new world and giving it life by transcending established rules. Marrying creativity and technique, seeking out craftspeople and skilled experts to take it further.
