The Maison du Peuple in Clichy, a modernist masterpiece from the 1930s, is about to be reborn under the impetus of Groupe Ducasse Paris. Originally designed by Eugène Beaudouin, Marcel Lods, Vladimir Bodiansky and Jean Prouvé, this innovative structure features movable floors, sliding partitions and an opening glass roof, testifying to an architecture in perpetual transformation.
The Jouin Manku studio, in collaboration with Perrot & Richard Architectes, has been commissioned to breathe new life into this emblematic site. Their intervention aims to preserve the essence of the building while adapting it to contemporary uses. The first floor will house the Ducasse factories (chocolate, coffee, ice cream, cookies), a refectory open to the public and a culinary residence, while the upper floors will house offices and spaces for gastronomic creation.
Supported by the French Ministry of Culture and the Île-de-France Region, the renovation project aims to turn the Maison du Peuple into an attractive hub for heritage, innovation and sharing. Completion is scheduled for 2025, giving new life to this historic monument listed since 1983.
