“ORBIT” for the 28th La Source Garouste auction

ORBIT, designed by Jouin Manku, was presented among the 55 designers who reinterpreted Jean Prouvé's famous metal stool produced by Vitra, for an auction to benefit the La Source Garouste association.
Founded in 1991 by Elizabeth and Gérard Garouste, the La Source Garouste association puts artistic creation at the service of social action. Believing that art is a powerful tool for combatting exclusion, the association supports young people facing challenges through creative projects that promote self-expression, self-confidence, and personal fulfilment.
Jean Prouvé's iconic stool, an emblem of rigour and structural simplicity, was at the heart of this exceptional project, which brought together 55 designers who were invited to reinvent it without betraying its essence. Among these reinterpretations is ORBIT, designed by Jouin Manku.

ORBIT turns the seat into a miniature architectural structure. Layers unfold and rise from the centre, creating a fluid and lively movement. The original structure, simple, modular and functional, becomes an aesthetic symbol. Here, the stool is more than just a seat; it is a design object and a functional sculpture that bridges the gap between tradition and modernity.
The exhibition will take place from December 13 to 15, 2025.
The auctions will be held on December 15 at 8 p.m., under the direction of Maître Frédéric Chambre (PIASA), at the Société d'Encouragement pour l'Industrie Nationale.
The event will also be accessible online via Piasa Live and Drouot.com .
