Objets Extraordinaires : Bar - Plaza Athénée

From the outset, the bar wasenvisioned as the heart of the space, a sculptural piecethatinstantlydraws the eye. It had to intrigue and fascinate, becoming a focal point for guests. Resinnaturallyemerged as the idealmaterial to embodythis vision: translucent, deep, and able to capture and reflect the unique atmosphere of the room.

The project’s development phase transformed the vision into an object of perfect proportions and refined details. The bar consists of a mirror-polished stainless-steel base subtly reflecting its surroundings. Above it, a transparent resin counter encases delicate white wisps, creating a mesmerizing play of light and depth. Behind the bar, stainless-steel-coated carbon-fiber panels provide a silvery, lunar texture, achieved through industrial techniques borrowed from the nuclear field to produce this unique finish.

Producing the bar posed a significant technical challenge. The counter was crafted from large slabs of cast resin, assembled with millimetric precision. This artisanal work, carried out hand in hand with resin specialists, achieved a piece of exceptional purity. Both monumental and ethereal, the bar embodies the ambition of the project: to create a singular object where technical innovation and material poetry converge to elevate the guest experience.
